Mrs. Davis was born Nov. 21, 1916 in Ashe County to the late Lester and Ida Plummer Sturgill.
Funeral services were held Friday, Aug. 14, at 2 p.m. at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel by the Rev. Herb Parunak. Burial followed in Ashelawn Memorial Gardens. The family received friends from 1 to 2 p.m. prior to the funeral service at Ashelawn.
Mrs. Davis is survived by: two sons, Lester Davis and wife, Dawn, of Aberdeen, NC, and Don Davis and wife, Beverley, of Fredericksburg, VA; a daughter-in-law, Polly Barker Davis Carpenter and her husband, Max, of Englewood, FL; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
