Pearl Jean Hagel, age 92, of West Jefferson, died Thursday evening, Sept. 9, 2009 at Segraves Nursing Care Center.

A memorial service was held on Monday, Sept. 14, at 4 p.m. at Bethany United Methodist Church with the Rev. A. Owen Peeler and the Rev. Lewis Poag.

The family received friends from 6-8 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 13, at Boone Family Funeral Home.

Mrs. Hagel was born in Klamath Falls, Oregon on Wednesday, Sept. 13, 1916 to the late Arthur Rockwell Wilson and Roxana Mersylvia Powelson Wilson. She was an active member of Bethany United Methodist Church, which was an important part of her life and the example she led for her children.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Hagel.

She is survived by two sons, Mark Hagel and wife, Lu, of West Jefferson and Greg Hagel of New Mexico; a daughter, Jennifer Judson and husband, Jim, of West Jefferson; a daughter-in-law, Frances Hagel of New Mexico; five grandchildren, Heather Judson, Laura Shepherd and husband, Philip, Aaron Tyler Hagel, Hillary Judson Carson and husband, Brian, and Lindsey Hagel; two great-grandchildren, Madison Hagel and Morgan Hagel; and a niece and nephew.
