Funeral services were held on Wednesday, Sept. 9, at 2 p.m. at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Rick Miller and the Rev. Russell Sheets officiating. Burial followed in Ashelawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
The family received friends from 12:30-2 p.m. on Wednesday, prior to the funeral service.
Mrs. Severt was born in Ashe County on Friday, Oct. 12, 1917 to the late Vonley Houston and Maida Severt Mash. She retired from Sprague Electric Company.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Kenneth Leonard Severt and Bill Severt.
She is survived by a daughter, Nell Gwen Mock and husband, Jack, of West Jefferson; a brother, Fred Mash of Glendale Springs; two sisters, Connie McNeill of West Jefferson and Myrtle Haynes of Concord; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
