William “Bill” Wayne Lewis age 63, of Stony Point, NC, formerly of Jefferson, died on Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2009 at his home in Jefferson.

Mr. Lewis was born on March 18, 1946 in Ashe County to the late James Lee and Dessie Mae Eastridge Lewis. Included his parents, he was preceded in death by two infant brothers and brother, Dean Lewis. He was an avid collector of John Deere tractors and memorabilia. He was owner of Lewis Furniture Store in West Jefferson for 20 years.

Funeral services were held on Monday, Dec. 28, at 2 p.m. at Badger Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Lloyd Day. Burial followed in Jefferson Cemetery. The family received friends from 1-2 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 28 at Badger Funeral Home Chapel.

Mr. Lewis is survived by: his wife, Wanda Lewis; two sons, David Lewis of Taylorsville, NC, and Danny Lewis of Stony Point, NC; two brothers, Robert Lewis of Lansing and Denver Lewis of Lansing; one sister, Lola Church of High Point; grandson, Dyson Lewis; and several nieces and nephews.
