Two Ashe County men are facing breaking and entering and larceny charges for their alleged role in breaking into a West Jefferson home before stealing a large assortment of tools and a truck

According to a press release issued by Ashe County Sheriff James Williams, 26-year-old Dallas Blaine Walker of Lansing and 24-year-old Christopher Richard Greene of West Jefferson allegedly broke into the home of James and Cindy Eller at 186 New Beginnings Drive on Thursday, Jan. 14 and took from there an air compressor, shop vac, electronics, along with a 2005 Chevrolet truck. Williams explained that the total value of the property exceeded $17,000. All of the confiscated property was returned to the owners.

Both men were charged with breaking and entering and larceny. Walker was arrested locally and is currently in the Ashe County Jail under a $20,000 bond. Greene was arrested in Caldwell County and was later transported back to Ashe where he is under a $40,000 bond.

In June 2007, Walker faced similar charges in Ashe when he was convicted for misdemeanor breaking and entering. He received a maximum sentence of four months.

Walker and Greene made their first court appearance on Tuesday.
