Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 13, at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Jay Blevins and the Rev. Billy Robinson officiating. Burial followed in the Ashelawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
The family received friends from 10-11 a.m. prior to the funeral on Saturday.
Mr. Absher was born in Pike County, KY on Wednesday, July 10, 1929 to the late John Andrew and Linda Elliott Absher. He retired from the United States Air Force. He served during the Korean War.
He is survived by: Ruby Absher of West Jefferson; a brother, Jack Absher of Lexington, KY; four sisters, Geraldine Branham of Pikeville, KY, Betty Fought of Waxhaw, NC, Peggy Sowards of Wyandotte, MI and Susan Khapami of Anaheim, CA; and several nieces and nephews.
Flowers will be accepted.
