The ACCF supports philanthropic purposes in the arts, education, environment, health, human services and other fields that benefit the communities of Ashe County. Established in 2001 by Dan’s parents, Lee and Mannon Eldreth, the Daniel Lee “Dan” Eldreth Memorial Endowment Fund makes grants with an emphasis toward educational projects and will allow Dan’s legacy of service to continue. The newest fund of the ACCF is the Beaver Creek High School Memorial Scholarship Fund, which will provide scholarships to deserving students from Ashe County High School.

The Ashe County Community Foundation is one of 60 affiliates of the North Carolina Community Foundation. ACCF is a nonprofit, publicly supported philanthropic institution that manages a pool of charitable funds whose income is used to benefit Ashe County in grants to nonprofit organizations, educational programs and scholarships. ACCF currently holds endowments for 12 designated organizations and individuals. Some funds are restricted by their donors to specific purposes or agencies, while others are donor advised and are not part of the grant cycle. However, together these funds reflect the diverse charitable interests of our community.
