The Blue Bulldogs moved to 3-2 on the season after an impressive 41-31 victory over the West Wilkes Knights at home last week.
Ashe gained a five-point lead in the first half, 21-16, but a slow six-point third quarter for the Bulldogs allowed West Wilkes to come within one point heading into the fourth quarter, 27-26.
In the fourth quarter, the Bulldogs held the Knights to only five points, while they scored 14 points, giving them the final 41-31 victory.
The Bulldogs were led by Seth Sheets, who scored 14 points, and Eli Gambill, who scored 10 points.
Other scorers included Hawkins Flannagan with eight points, Jonathon Barlow, Zach Lawrence and Matthew Lee with two points each, and Cullen Ashley with one point.
Previous wins for the Bulldogs includes a 38-22 victory over West Wilkes, and a 56-17 victory over Piney Creek. Their losses have came from a 50-33 performance at Central Wilkes, and a 54-52 loss on the road at Johnson County.
The Blue Bulldogs will return to action next Tuesday, December 30 when Ashe County Middle School is hosting the Bulldog Winter Classic.
Starting off the events will be the Wrestling squad with a clinic on the basics of wrestling, which includes scoring, rules, and examples of moves. Following the clinic, the Bulldogs will have an intrasquad scrimmage to display live action for the audience.
Following the Wrestling Clinic, the roundball teams will take the court. The Lady Bulldogs take center stage at 7 p.m. with the classic Blue-Silver match up, which has always been a crowd pleaser.
Following the Ladies game, the Boys will take the court in the second game of the set, in the nightcap.
