The Ashe County Huskies picked up its second win of the season Tuesday night at North Wilkes. Ashe defeated the Vikings 3-1. On Monday, the Huskies lost a heartbreaker to Watauga 1-0. The defense was outstanding in that matchup, but the offense could not find the next against an equally tough Pioneer defense. Ashe has won two of its last three matches, with the other win coming in a 7-0 blowout victory over the West Wilkes Blackhawks.
After those three games, the team’s record stands at 2-6 overall, and 2-2 in conference play.
Next week, the Huskies host Wilkes Central on Tuesday, September 21 and follow that up with another home game with Forbush on Thursday.
