The day begins with a 50-lap shootout street stock race at 12:30 p.m. to get the fans tuned up for the main events of the afternoon.
Following that, the USARacing Pro Cup series drivers will take the track for a 250-lap race as part of the USARacing Pro Cup Championship Series. This race will be the third of five races in the championship series of events.
USARacing Pro Cup, formerly known as the Hooters Pro Cup, will make its first trip to North Wilkesboro Speedway since the track reopened.
Several current and former NASCAR Sprint Cup Series drivers started their racing careers in the USARacing Pro Cup, including Matt Kenseth, Brian Vickers, Joey Logano, Joe Nemechek and Scott Wimmer. Fans will get the opportunity Sunday to see some of the top rising talent that the racing world has to offer.
After the 250-lap race, the evening closes with a 100-lap shootout Tour Type Modified race, similar to what takes place at Bowman Gray Stadium in Winston-Salem each weekend, as well as the type of racing featured on the History Channel show “Madhouse”.
Following this weekend’s activities, there will be one more racing weekend scheduled at North Wilkesboro Speedway this year. Coming up on October 29 through 31, the first NWS Short Track Shootout will be held which also includes the Sunoco National Series Kings Ransom 300 which will conclude the weekend on Halloween.
