Hannah Blevins, a freshman at Ashe County High School just clinched her second junior dragster track championship in 2010. To win one championship in a year is a very tough task, but to win 2 in the same year at different racetracks is an amazing accomplishment. In September of this year, Blevins won her first championship at Piedmont Dragway in Burlington, NC by 16 points, and this past weekend she won her second track championship at Wilkesboro Raceway Park by only 2 points. She also finished in a tie for 3rd place in the IHRA Teen Class at Farmington Dragway. Blevins has picked up 10 wins in the Jr. Dragster class so far this year. She & her dad will finish out the year at Rockingham Dragway for the IHRA World Bracket Finals this weekend, and then on to Farmington Dragway for the Junior Dragster Shootout which will be held on October 29th & 30th. Luke Eggers is the reigning grand champion of this race. Blevins is sponsored by W R Blevins Plumbing Co, Inc., Hank Thomas Performance, Jefferson Welding, E Gs Custom Automotive, Heinz Bros. Performance, Craver Racing Engines, Summit Performance, & Mike Hutchens Racing. Hannah would like to thank all of the crew members, including her dad, Timbo Blevins, Angie, Luke & Kelsey Eggers, Todd, Denise, Ty & Tia Tutterow, Tim Douglas & Mike Hutchens for their hard work & dedication this past year. You can catch Hannah, Luke & Kelsey live on the internet at pitrowradio.com on Wednesday, October 27th from 7-9 p.m. This is a weekly 2 hour show dedicated to drag racing which is broadcast live from Applebees in Clemmons NC. Race cars will be on display and an autograph session will be held before the 7 p.m. show. Hannah & her dad Timbo are the first father/daughter track champions at Wilkesboro Raceway Park. Timbo picked up his 57th career win this past weekend by winning the inaugural Race Against Cancer event at WRP. This is his first door car win since 2004, when he started driving top dragsters.
