Mrs. Patsy Odessa Rutherford Murphy of North Wilkesboro died Sunday, Dec. 2, 2012, at her home. She was 61.

Mrs. Murphy was born Aug. 3, 1951, in Cook County, Ga., to Leon and Mae Bennett Rutherford.

She was manager of Brushy Mountain Smokehouse.

She is survived by her fiancé, Jerry T. Kilby of North Wilkesboro; one daughter, Misty McCrimmon Brown of Wilkesboro; two sons, Chris McCrimmon of Raleigh and fiancé, Jessica Brooks of Wilkesboro, John McCrimmon of Sparta; five grandchildren, Star Mounts, Damian McCrimmon, Garrett Brown, Maggie Brown, Jackie McCrimmon; two great-grandchildren, Arraya Skye Mounts, Mitchell Ray Mounts; four sisters, Virginia Bass and husband, Vernon of Sarasota, Fla., Lee Cornelius, Ann Harnage, Mary and Darin Portivent all of Hayhira, Ga.; one brother, Ronnie Rutherford and wife, Jessica of Tampa, Fla.; and special friend, Tom Todd of Sparta.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012, at Reins-Sturdivant Chapel with Pastor Mike Caudill officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday from 10-10:45 a.m. at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home prior to the service.
