James Sloan is the vocational department’s student of the month for February.

“James’ work ethic and attitude will reward him with success regardless of the career path he chooses,” said Walter Pugh, who teaches construction at Ashe County High School.

James is currently taking welding II at ACHS, where he maintains a B average. “James consistently demonstrates initiative by taking on leadership roles in getting projects done and displays determination in seeing them through to the end. He is also very good at problem solving and is able to adapt to changing situations,” read a release from Pugh.

Pugh also thanked Parker Tie and Dewalt for sponsoring the student of the month.
