A tractor trailer was destroyed by fire along N.C. 16 near the Glendale Springs community Wednesday morning.

Randy Lee Issac was driving north on N.C. 16 when he noticed smoke billowing from the truck, according to N.C. State Trooper Joe Berong. Issac quickly pulled the truck over to the side of the road, and watched the fire completely engulf the tractor.

The fire was reported at roughly 11 a.m. The Glendale Springs Volunteer Fire Department assisted the Wilbar VFD to extinguish the burning vehicle before noon.

According to Trooper Berong, nobody was injured in the fire. The tractor trailer belonged to P.D. Little and Sons, a company operating out of Conover.
