Mrs. Dosha Blevins Poe Payne of Lansing died on Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2012, at Margate Health & Rehab Center in Jefferson. She was 98.
Mrs. Payne was born on Sept. 2, 1914, in Grayson County, Va., to the late Elick and Rose Reedy Blevins.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a son, Bill Poe; seven brothers; and two sisters.
Mrs. Payne retired as a nurse’s aide and after retirement worked at Shatley Springs Restaurant as a biscuit maker.
Mrs. Payne is survived by a son, Roger Poe and wife Judy of Lansing; son, Vance Poe and wife Ethel of Whitetop, Va.; daughter, Wilma Frazier of Alabama; daughter, Betty Williams of Mouth Of Wilson, Va.; brother, Dentis Blevins of Whitetop, Va.; 15 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 22, 2012, at the Helton Valley Baptist Church by Rev. Billy Joe Blevins. Burial will follow in the Walls Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 21, 2012, at Helton Valley Baptist Church.
