Mrs. Goldie Mae Miller of West Jefferson passed away Saturday night, March 9, 2013, at Ashe Memorial Hospital. She was 92.

Mrs. Miller was born in Ashe County on Tuesday, May 18, 1920, to the late John and Mary Miller.

She was a Homemaker. Goldie was a member of Roundknob Baptist Church.

She was also preceded in death by two sons, Walter Cox and Van Cox; four brothers, John Miller, Everett Miller, Smith Miller and Luther Miller; and three sisters, Carrie Severt, Pearl Barker and Clyde Cox.

Goldie was known for her good cooking. She loved to see people come to visit and loved to feed them. The most important thing to her was her family. Goldie was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She will be missed by all.

Mrs. Miller is survived by her husband, Jessie Britt Miller; five sons, Ander Cox and wife, Martha, of West Jefferson, Jessie Ray Miller, of West Jefferson, Dean Miller, of West Jefferson, Lloyd Miller and wife, Nancy, of West Jefferson and Mark Miller and wife, Pam, of Jefferson; six daughters, Edith Clark and husband Goss, of West Jefferson, Frances Cozart and husband, Sheldon, of West Jefferson, Violet Roten and husband, Clint, of West Jefferson, Shelby Casey, of West Jefferson, Debbie McClure and husband, Mike, of Jefferson and Vickie Barker of West Jefferson; a sister, Ada Polk, of Mocksville; two brothers, Clint Miller, of West Jefferson and Shade Miller, of Jefferson; 33 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; 14 great, great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, March 12, 2013, at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Vernon Eller, Rev. Keith Elledge and Rev. Keith Casey officiating. Burial will follow in Claude Mash Cemetery.

The family received friends on Monday, March 11, 2013, at Boone Family Funeral Home.
